1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"50df\">There are times in my life when I struggle with positivity.\u00a0I catastrophize way too much and find myself veering towards a negative point of view more than I would like.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"f5d3\">How does that pan out for me?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"0ab9\">Not fantastic, if I\u2019m completely honest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"2b6e\">Life can sometimes feel overwhelming.\u00a0It\u2019s normal to have challenging thoughts every once in a while.\u00a0But when you start to see the negative in everything, it can lead to mental health problems and leave you with that sensation that it is all becoming \u201ctoo much\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"ce83\">How can we change that mindset?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"8021\">Many techniques can help us start viewing the world with more illusion and optimism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"c1b7\">Practicing mindfulness for example.\u00a0Reminding ourselves to live in the present moment and not create anxiety or fear by living in the past or future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"76b9\">We can recognize and control irrational thinking, such as mind reading, making assumptions, catastrophizing, and over-generalizing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"b159\">Also finding humour during life\u2019s challenging events, breathing techniques and purposely stopping negative thoughts before they spiral out of control go a long way in rescuing us before we fall into that deep, dark hole of despair.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"a836\">Another popular technique, and by far my favorite, for changing one\u2019s mindset and attitude about life and oneself is\u00a0stating\u00a0<strong>positive affirmations<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"9e91\">Positive Affirmations.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"cb32\">I started creating affirmation cards as a way to manage my own anxiety \u2014 and over time, I realised how powerful repetition can be.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"0b36\">During the many hours I have these affirmations constantly in front of my eyes and inside my head.\u00a0As a person who releases anxiety and sadness via creativity, the time spent designing them is extremely calming for me and has helped me immensely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-3 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\">\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-rounded is-style-rounded--2\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"819\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"65ca\">These positive phrases are designed to be repeated and seen constantly to promote change in your life and ease distress.
