How to use them properly to shift your mindset.

There are times in my life when I struggle with positivity. I catastrophize way too much and find myself veering towards a negative point of view more than I would like.
How does that pan out for me?
Not fantastic, if I’m completely honest.
Life can sometimes feel overwhelming. It’s normal to have challenging thoughts every once in a while. But when you start to see the negative in everything, it can lead to mental health problems and leave you with that sensation that it is all becoming “too much”.
How can we change that mindset?
Many techniques can help us start viewing the world with more illusion and optimism.
Practicing mindfulness for example. Reminding ourselves to live in the present moment and not create anxiety or fear by living in the past or future.
We can recognize and control irrational thinking, such as mind reading, making assumptions, catastrophizing, and over-generalizing.
Also finding humour during life’s challenging events, breathing techniques and purposely stopping negative thoughts before they spiral out of control go a long way in rescuing us before we fall into that deep, dark hole of despair.
Another popular technique, and by far my favorite, for changing one’s mindset and attitude about life and oneself is stating positive affirmations.
Positive Affirmations.
I started creating affirmation cards as a way to manage my own anxiety — and over time, I realised how powerful repetition can be.
During the many hours I have these affirmations constantly in front of my eyes and inside my head. As a person who releases anxiety and sadness via creativity, the time spent designing them is extremely calming for me and has helped me immensely.

These positive phrases are designed to be repeated and seen constantly to promote change in your life and ease distress. Pin them to your vision boards, or your fridges, and print them on sticker paper to use in your journals.
The possibilities are endless.
Using positive affirmations is like practicing positive self-talk.
They can help reframe negative thoughts and focus on ideas and behaviors that lead to change. They have been proven to help with anxiety and reduce worrisome thoughts.
Affirmations can help shift your thinking, but on their own, they’re not enough.
Words without action don’t create change — they just sound good in the moment.
The difference comes when you pair every affirmation with one action.
That might be writing it down daily, changing a small habit, or making a decision that aligns with what you’re telling yourself.

I design bilingual, Spanish, and English Affirmation cards spanning a variety of subjects, including self-love, healing a broken heart after a breakup, menopause, anxiety, and reducing stress at Christmas time.
